Hey everyone, it’s your boy here—high school senior grinding through senior year in Miami, Florida. As a young Floridian born and raised in the 305, I’ve been watching our state blow up with opportunity but also struggle with skyrocketing housing costs, overdevelopment eating up farmland, traffic nightmares, and trying to keep that DeSantis magic alive for the next generation. With the 2026 gubernatorial election heating up (primary August 18), the big question is, who do I endorse for Governor? After digging deep, I’m endorsing James Fishback for Florida Governor. Here’s why, straight talk from a Miami kid who’s about to vote and cares about keeping Florida affordable, free, and ours. Why James Fishback? Fishback is a fourth-generation Floridian (Davie roots, now Panhandle) who’s actually living the same reality as young people like me. He’s running to succeed DeSantis by doubling down on what works: fighting inflation that’s pricing us out, stopping unchecked data centers and development from destroying farmland and neighborhoods, and making it possible for regular families to live, work, and retire here without getting squeezed.

fishback2026.com As a young conservative, what fires me up is his energy. He’s packing rallies with students, talking directly to Gen Z about opportunity, education freedom, and not letting Florida turn into just another expensive, over-regulated blue-state copy. He praises DeSantis’ record but wants to push it further—stronger on borders, pro-law enforcement (his running mate is a former South Florida cop), and putting Florida families first over corporate interests or DC games.

miamiherald. In Miami, we feel the pressure every day: high costs, diverse communities needing real security, and making sure tourism and local economies thrive without selling out. Fishback’s outsider fight against “the same old politics” resonates. He’s bold where it counts—America First values like energy dominance, resisting federal overreach, and preserving the Florida dream for kids like me who want to stay and build here. Addressing the NoiseSure, there’s controversy and some edgy comments in his past—politics is messy. But I judge on the future, not perfection. Fishback is owning the conversation on affordability and the next generation in a way the establishment candidates aren’t. Donalds has Trump’s endorsement and experience, which matters, but Fishback brings the fire and fresh perspective we need to keep Florida the freest, strongest red state. My endorsement is clear: James Fishback for Governor. He’s the one talking like he gets young Floridians—protecting our state from losing what makes it special while keeping it open for business and opportunity. What do you think, fam? Fishback for bold change or someone else? Drop your takes in the comments—I’m a senior doing my homework and standing firm on this. Florida’s future is ours. Let’s keep it prosperous, free, and Florida First (America First). Hit like, subscribe, and stay tuned for more young conservative voices from Miami.
